Default Frostwire Is Much Better Than Limewire

Hi Guys

Been Trying out Frostwire Now for about the last 2 months.

Never any problems with it, what so ever, why is this, do you think.

Produced by the same team (I think), at least it looks the same layout,
also seem to remember something on the forum saying that

Can't be bothered looking it up at, present

What I'm Pleased about is, It seems to me to be a lot faster, also, I get my results a lot quicker

Default Re-Check That

My Firewall has now started blocking Frostwire
have they updated java so soon
I only installed the last update, 3 weeks ago

The amount of times, they put an update out is ridiculous, everytime they put an update out Frostwire gets blocked
I know I have to keep my java upto date to get access, but this is going beyond a joke
I Know it's no joke, that's a saying where I come from.

Default That Didn't Work

Okay that, didn't work
(drat, and double drat), in those kind of words

Going to uninstall, Frostwire, then re-install (My ver is upto date)
(First I will move, copy my library and incomplete files somewhere else) (just in case)

Going Through This step by step incase other people have the same problem
Hope Not

What type of firewall is that? Norton's is notorious for blocking software that
has been upgraded. If that's the one you have go into the firewall and wipe out
all the rules for FrostWire and Java, then let it build them up again from scratch
when you run FrostWire.

Okay tried to re-install Frostwire, get to the point, when it says configure firewall, pressed yes nothing comes up, went on with install
(Tried This Six Times)

It's Still blocked

went through the usual, (I'm not downing the forum, this forum is usually spot on) that it says on the forum how to configure the ports, and port forwarding, nothing works

Okay going to re-unistall, Frostwire, go into Zone Alarm
and delete every instance of Frostwire In the program

Ie open za goto the program control tab, then in the programs tab highlight and delete frostwire.exe

Now goto the main tab in program control tab, and select medium
this means that every program on your computer, must ask for internet access

Hopefully This will work

Now re-install Frostwire, If it comes up the same as before, we will try something else a bit more drastic.

If you don't know about computers, then try and get someone that does
from this point on
If it doesn't work

Okay this is getting ridiculous,
Tried the same as above, no joy

Okay now i'm going to try this, I'm going to re-uninstall frostwire
Search for every instance on the hard drive ie the C:\ and delete it
now i'm going to open ZA and do the same again as above

(Remember not to delete the saved music files, and incomplete files, that have been put somewhere else)

Now I'm going to open the windows registry, And delete every instance of frostwire in it

(That's why I said get somebody that knows computers)

(I WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSABILTY FOR GOING INTO THE REGISTRY, YOU DO THAT AT YOUR OWN RISK)
(NEVER TRY AND EDIT THE REGISTRY, UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING)

After doing that I will use a program, to clean and compress the registry

Then I Re-boot, then re-install Frostwire and see if that gets it then

Hopefully

The problem is probably not Frostwire. If (temporarily) uninstalling ZoneAlarm
doesn't help and your port-forward rule in the router/modem (if you have one)
still points to the right internal IP address, then it is your ISP who is firewaling
Frostwire, not you.

I do not know if you are using XP or not but if you are make sure the XP firewall hasn't been turned on some how.
