firewall

I am new to frostwire,so far so good .I just have one question.Shouldt I be behind a firewall at all times?( on p2p)Because it seemed that on my last p2p program ,it always showed me behind a firewall at all times and I still was able to recieve exellent downloads.MY first day on frostwire,it showed me behind a firewall, and I recieved fast, good downloads. And now, second time on frostwire it shows that I am not behind one. Probaly because I updated my java because my cpu useage was99 percent.now its 4 percent.(thank u grandpa) Bottom line. Can I be behind a firewall, and get good connections and good speeds? (if so how?)because I would rather be protected! Or should I not worry about this?

The FW firewall icon is showing if there's a problem with a software/hardware firewall. If you don't see the firewall icon, it's in no way saying that your firewall's not on & you aren't protected...it's saying that a firewall isn't stopping FW from working properly. It's a good thing;)
As long as you are using a decent firewall (bad idea to run without one), things are fine.

You'll still be able to download & people will be able to download from you. Whereas before, others probably had little or no success downloading your files:D
