i had the old frostwire and it worked fine what is with this new version. it is stuck on starting connection. yes i have a firewall up but it worked on the old version. any solution to this problem without haveing to jump through hoops. i really wish these developers would get something to work correctly before they put it out to the public

Read the stickies, use the forum search or give us some details. But don't come here bleating about getting no help, when you haven't even told us what OS you're using let alone anything else

i don't see what my systems specs have to do with anything. if the old version worked and the new one doesn't, something is wrong with the new one.
i just won't bother with it. they had a working system and had to mess with.

You won't get much help with that attitude. Supplying your details helps rule in/out some of the more common problems and gives the members of the forum who are trying to help, a starting point.

It maybe something simple like the "Listen on Port". IN FW go to Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall Config, and set it to 6346. If that doesn't help try setting to something between 45000 and 65000. That's just a guess, you didn't leave much to work with.

The new one works, so the problem is back to your setup. With ~5 million users online, problems with the code would flood the forumsRight.
