Lightbulb frostwire hangs

some weeks ago I installed frostwire on my linux-laptop. It worked perfectly. Now for some reason it stopped working perfect. The first problem I noticed was, that the connected-sign in the left-bottom-corner said: not connected. After a while I discovered I was connected although the programm said i wasn't. Downloading went just as it should, but in the download-window at the bottom the progress-indicator didn't do anything. When I push one of the buttons below (cancel?, resume?, interrupt?, play?, delete? I use the dutch version so I don't know for sure these are the names of the buttons!!) Well, when I use them, the progress-indicator(s) are updated. But when I cancel a download the programm hangs altogether. Closing is impossible, but resizing is posibble. Im think it al started when I tried to download a lot of songs in one time, so some of them had to wait. I already tried to reinstall the hole package but the problems remain.
Got anyone a good tip????

Clean out (or even delete) the incomplete folder. All those incompletes trying to connect on startup are probably resulting in the freeze.

the problem is that I can't cancel a download. That is the cause of Frostwire hanging.
The side-effects are:
1. when I start frostwire it shows the "not connected" sign, but is working just the same
2. When I download something, the progress indicator doesn't work. It is only updated when I push one of the buttons under the download-screen.

Removing the incomplete-map didn't work.

So, what next?????

Try setting up a new account & see if you have the same problems.

As for your main account FW, try temporarily removing all your shared files to a new location (ie: FW will then be sharing zero files unless you have partial file sharing turned on). This will at least help reduce 'some' of the load on FW & hopefully enough to at least access the download window.

Also make sure your Java is up to date.

There are other ways of reducing some load on your FW, but would need to be able to access the FW preference options.
