slow speed (12kb)

I have frostwire 4.13.1 using windows 2000, usi wireless modem(ruckus wireless modem) comodo firewall

I am using (usi wireless) to connect my desktop which uses a Ruckus wireless modem model #mm2211 (I think) I did for a time were recieving 50-100 kbs per download. as of this week, this has changed dramaticaly down to 12kbs. after recently changing my upload speed settings in options, (something that was suggested) it has went up to 20kbs 10kb per download (2) 8 hosts each

When getting results from speakeasy speed test, I recieve about 9000-10000 kbps on download speed, again, when downloading lately from frostwire I am only getting around 20kbs alltogether. Are there any fixes or configurations that will help. here is something that is in the providers statement. ( keep in mind I was getting great speeds with this same provider.)

No client to client traffic is allowed within the wireless network. This ensures that all traffic must past through proper firewalls and routers to gain access to any resource throughout the network. Each specific use network will also be VLANed to ensure complete separation of traffic.

I do not have any information on US INTERNET CORP.

Yes, uploads can help dramatically with downloading.

Remember you can only download as fast as the person(s) at the other end can spare. This can vary from day to day. You might also be downloading from a partial file sharer; a person who does not themselves have the complete file but shares as much of it from their incomplete folder. This helps increase overall download speeds when Partial File Sharing is enabled.

I always re-search a topic & then 'Get More Results' function to in the hope to find more sources to download from. Uploading similar material often seems to help 'finding' more sources when you are searching.

So you dont believe the problem may lay within the wireless internet connection of which I am using? ( usI wireless/ Ruckus model mm2211)

It's difficult to say. We previously sent people to Bitzi to download their non copyright files section from their site which would check whether their isp was interfering with their speeds. However Bitzi's magnet links appear to have been part broken for some time.

Let me send you a magnet link, see if you are able to connect to it & get beyond 20 KB/s. My upload capacity is 90-100 KB/s but I tend to get busy uploads so I'll see how we go. ;)

Wireless does have some issues. Especially for some set ups. The bandwidth will not remain constant (fluctuate), and if too many queries passing through may affect the connection altogether.

Is there the chance to re-connect using hard wired (cable directly between computer & modem/router), and see if that makes a difference?

I am currently using an ethernet chord between the wireless modem and the computer, I do not think there is any other option with this modem. I will however take a look.

Ethernet cable is what I meant ... sounds like the problem is not the wireless sending of data then. ;)

If you mean f/w support, I have already posted there and had one response: no client to client is allowed with my wireless modem and to try Portforward.I was under the impression this was for routers. I have a modem( so I thought) I also checked this forum and only saw limewire support. Is this were I should post? I wouldnt want to post in the wrong area.
