Default Download faster?

I read adding frostwire to the list of port range forwarding will help you download faster. If so, I have a Linksys BEFSR41. What do I need to enter in the following spaces; Aplication, Start, and End.

Please no long drawn out explanation or questions unless you know some other tricks to help download faster. Everything is fine and working just looking for some more tweeks like this. It seemed to have worked a little for BT by adding it to the list. Should i disable windows firewall, add Frostwire to nortons list will that speed anything up. Like I said, I have no problems i'm just lookin for a speed boost. oh, and do those gay download speeder-uppers work?

To sorta answer my own question...lol dumbass!
From frostwire go to >Options >Advanved >Firewall
This will allow you to to select UPnP, manual port forwarding, and do nothing.
I would select one of the first two... This may help if ur stuff aint connecting but it sure didnt speed anything up by manually port forwarding.

I would still like any recommendations to speed things up.

Default A++++ for faster downloads

I aint a computer geek for sure, rather a darn good google'r...
For faster downloads from probably any program try this.
Ctrl+Alt+Delete >Processes >right click and simply set at a desired priority. My computer set frostwire to high when i requested realtime. I think maybe only explorer is allowed to do that... But instead of 0-20 kbps and occasional 100kbps peak, I'm rockin steady at 350-375 for one download. And 10mins instead of 23hrs. Heck yea!!

[Configure your router for LimeWire:]

[BEFSR41] - [BEFSR41v1.40.2] - [BEFSR41v2] - [BEFSR41-v3-v4-v5]

One of these will match that router.

A 256 kbps (kilobits) speed plan which I was on for a while, is in theory 32 KB/s (kiloBytes). However in practice you will lose 10-25% of that speed from the ISP due to various reasons ... line speed loss (distance away from ISP), packet losses due to router, etc.

If you wish a faster speed, upgrade your ISP plan. I did .. from ADSL1 256 up to their maximum plan ADSL2. My speed examples can be seen here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/limewi...tml#post330034. Limits on my speed are due to my router (I don't wish to buy another just for a small increase in speed), and of course losses as suggested in first paragraph.

Using FrostWire or LimeWire is not same as downloading using your Browser. No download managers will help. There are some around that claim to be but after being checked by the LW devs proved to be fake, & some users reported them having the opposite effect than advertised. lol Getting faster downloads can be achieved by sharing lots, uploading, searching intelligently & skillfully to find hosts. Speeds are dictated by the hosts you download from in most cases, unless there is some other interference such as firewalls, isp shaping, etc.

no .. just the p2p sharing client, FW or LW. Unless you choose another one like Phex, etc. Perhaps you should look at the stickies at top of the Download/Upload Problems section to get tips on how to improve your methods. Sharing similar files as you are seeking often helps.

Also, to improve download speeds,

Apart from getting a better internet connection, :P There really isn't much you can do, it's less of you download speeds and more of the sharers uploading speeds

Sucks right?
