Default Frostwire issue

Okay, I am going to try to make this clear as possible. Sorry if I loose ya Frostwire was on the computer I am using, and I couldnt find where the songs were going. I first hit explore and that didnt take me anywhere and then I went to start and search and That still couldnt find the song. I thought maybe someone installed it wrong perhaps, so I unistalled it then reinstalled it. It kinda worked...ish. The songs were going to the froswire folder with all the installation fiiles this time instead of the frostwire saved folder but I didnt care. Anyways this was last night and now its doing the same things as it was in the begining! Cant find the new songs that ive been downloading, I hit explore and nothing, I search for it and nothing. Am I missing something?

I am not sure if i understand you right, but i will try to help you out as i can! As you know the default location for Fw to save the downloaded files is in "My Documents"...If you have downloaded my installer for FW 4.21.1 it had that issue as you describe in your post at early stage...You must move the downloaded files and uninstall FW and make a clean install with my new bug fixed installer if you used my installer...Make sure you remove every singel file and folder after FW is uninstalled! The new FW installer will choose the default location for save the files like it allways have done, hope this helps... Btw it can be good ide to install FW in a diffrent location on your hdd then you did last time...

Take a look at the ChangeLog for FW Patched:

Quote:
-Patched for preventing unwanted behaviors from FrostWire!
-Added NEW made default overlays displayed in "Search" after FrostWire is up and runing!
-FrostClick Promotions is default now disabled.
-Added more extensions not to be shared with FrostWire.
-Bug fix for Default "Saved" Folder location!

Go to FW's menu bar, Tools -> Options -> Saving. This is where you can change the download location. Downloading into the FW folder is dangerous because if you re-install FW with an update, you will lose all your downloaded files.

My FW downloads to:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\FrostWire\Saved

Unless you have finished downloading a file, it will not go to the download folder. All incomplete downloads go to the incomplete folder. Once 100% downloaded, FW shifts it to the download folder.

BTW I use File_Girl's adapted version of FW.

now I'm confused. i had to re-download FW, and thanks to the above posts, found the 1 song i downloaded to try, was in My Documents, so i dragged it into Music (where i still have 100's of songs from previous FW), and then when i tried to change the download location to Music, it doesn't show any songs (though they are there), so they are also not being shared. when i go to Music through Explorer, their there ???

If you changed download location to Music, then changes probably won't occur until new downloads begin. Whilst a file is downloading, you can right-click & choose change location also btw.
You can also set specific kinds of media to download to particular locations, such as music to Music, others elsewhere.
Refresh or restarting FW should get all newly shared files visibly added to the list. Depends how you have it set up.

ok. i downloaded another song, and it went into Music (thanks Botox), but it's still showing me sharing that 1 song. when i go into Library, Shared Files is empty (both), Individually Shared Files shows the 1 song i just downloaded, but Saved Files shows the 100's of songs from previous, but their in red and un-clickable, and not being shared???? i always give back to the communities i receive from, and it's bugging me that my library (saved files) is not sharing. oh, i think i missed something in the Bundle download, i get the Frostwire Update Available popup when i first start it up.
