Confused Help: getting stuck at "starting connection" on Vista laptop

I am having an issue with Frostwire, it is getting stuck at "starting connection" and never gets any further. I have uninstalled and reinstalled frostwire about 5 times. I am trying to run it on a laptop w/Vista. I had it on another laptop w/Vista and it worked fine. THANKS IN ADVANCE

If you are trying to connect via same router, might be worth 'port forwarding' for this particular laptop.

Yes it is with the same router. I am a not too literate when it comes to things like that with computers. How do I do that? I can usually fumble and figure something out but this one is kicking my butt.

Default Portforwarding Frostwire

Hi lilolstang

Here is the website that will explain what port forwarding is and how to do it for your particular modem/router and application that you want to use:-

Port Forwarding Guides Listed by Manufacturer and Model - PortForward.com

NB. You may not find how you can port forward "Frostwire", I couldn't when I looked, but you can use the instructions for "Limewire" instead.

Hope this helps

UK Bob

PortForward.com uses the older LimeWire 4 instructions which is almost identical to FrostWire because FW is based on the LW 4 interface & options design. (LW 5 changed both the interface & options.)
