fw5 is out! guide FROST 5 IS OUT Introduction Welcome to FrostWire 5. As you can see from looking at FrostWire, a lot has been modified to improve the file sharing experience. The previously used Gnutella network has been infiltrated with spam files, which resulted in many of your searches being a total mess and became more difficult to avoid. Now the program has centered itself around torrents, which are increasingly becoming a more popular method for file sharing. This solid feature gets rid of the need to search in a specific category since torrents can contain any file type you may be looking for. Just enter your keywords and go! Secondly, the user interface has been replaced with a smoother look and feel using Substance skinning. While it may take some time to get used to the new FrostWire, it should be an overall much-needed improvement to the obstacles users ran into in older versions. For information on how to use FrostWire 5, click the Guide link on the left-side navigation. |
:lmao: Since FrostWire is only a halfassed bittorent client now. 1. Vuze (multiplatform) Vuze: The most powerful bittorrent app on earth. 2. uTorrent (Multiplatform) http://www.utorrent.com/downloads 3. Transmission (Mac/Linux) Transmission 4. libtorrent/rtorrent (linux) The libTorrent and rTorrent Project 5-999. Other real and not to mention better clients 1000 or worse: Frostwire bittorrent leechclient, which is banned pretty much everywhere except public tracker leechfests, where more torrent die than are uploaded every day. Congratulations on taking the next step towards killing all public BT  Also see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/frostw...5-0-7-out.html <-- LINK Edit: unlike this new frostwire, see this project http://filesharingtalk.com/content/1...ownload-Speeds http://www.tribler.org/trac/wiki Maybe those FrostWire devs could actually learn something as well. BTW you should be ashamed of yourself using "Tech Support Advisor" as a title, when endorsing that crap. |
i'll explain bit better Im support for the #support room as well as computers and software as well as forum i dont have frost on this computer so i cant comment on it most my work is the FORUM and #support Quote:

Thanks Sleepless for your info about private trackers, but I think in long term use of FrostWire as BitTorrent client will even get it banned from the public one as well!I do not see any way Gnutella Forums can give any support for FrostWire version 5 since its not use the Gnutella network! |

Download Direct, Flashget & Free Download Manager are downloaders only, they do not share back; unable to seed. (I personally 'kick' every Flashget client I see. Such programs will simply kill / shorten the life of torrents by not sharing back.) Then there's the LimeWire based part-time torrent programs that are set to only share for a certain time period or limited percentage/ratio, whichever criteria it reaches first. The default maximum period is for one day only. That comes very close to being freeloaders when you're talking about large torrent files such as videos. (Imagine this example, largest torrent I recall I have downloaded was around 125 to 140 GB in size. One day of sharing/seeding it back what % do you think LW or FW users would reach? Especially if their upload bandwidth is being used for other networks or purposes also. My guess is many would simply remove the torrent from the list as soon as they finish downloading anyway. I've seen LW & FW users downloading from public torrent sites, but I've never seen them seeding after their torrent finished downloading. And they wonder why the torrent community dislikes them.) |
Yeah, I kick all those improper clients too including LW/FW, not Shareaza though as it seems to behave a little better i.e. it actually uploads back when in swarm. |
