FrostWire 4 versions to connect to Gnutella network - MaxOSX + Windows versions with Skins+Spam Search filters; Linux links Installing any of these FrostWire programs will most likely need a fresh connection file. This can be found here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/frostw...ere-first.html Note for MacOS users, please read MacOS security - Using legacy apps on Mac OS to help you enable downloading (the installers), installing and opening these 3rd party unsigned apps. Otherwise the default MacOS security will disallow you either downloading or opening these installers. MacOS users find FW versions here Download FrostWire v4 for Mac OS X (open source) - AfterDawn. Click the 'All versions' tab to find any earlier version. . * Alternately I have put together installation packages which has the identical (even improved) upgraded settings and search spam filters as File_Girl's Windows editions. These ones include skins and connection installers. OR via MediaFire here. You can download the MacOSX versions from a GoogleDrive folder "MacOSX FrostWire via GoogleDrive here" (though appears these days you need to log into Google to access) OR Frostw. OSX via SaberCat (Recommended.) These include a settings online installer that grabs both connection and hostiles files produced within the previous six months. Or via 4Shared links (need to register at 4Shared to download): 4.21.8, . 4.21.7, . 4.21.6, . 4.21.5, . 4.21.4, . 4.21.2, . 4.20.9, . 4.18.6, . 4.18.0, . 4.17.2. You can also download from a 4Shared folder from this folder. Note: OSX 10.9 Mavericks or later, if FrostWire 4.21 refuses to open, try installing FrostWire 4.20 instead. Linux users find FW versions here Download FrostWire for Linux v4.21.8 (open source) - AfterDawn: Software downloads. Click the 'All versions' tab to find any earlier version. Alternatively via MediaFire here or via via SaberCat or via GoogleDrive here (though appears these days you need to log into Google to access). Bonus Custom made Skins for FrostWire 4 - Linux versions can be found here or at the SaberCat weblink. Windows users find 'clean' versions of FW here Bundle Free Clean FrostWire! (Windows only) . (These versions have had their junkware removed, something the official FW website dishonestly claimed for over a year that FW did not have. Affected versions were 4.20 & 4.21. Portable versions also available.) A few extra installers found on post#33 of the same thread or in the folder links on first page. Alternatively via via Sabercat or via GoogleDrive folder here (though appears these days you need to log into Google to access). GoogleDrive instructions here using LW as an example. As mentioned, Google's holiday period is over, they apparently want to know the ID of everyone that uses their services. So much for privacy and anonymous downloads. * Please note: Unless using File_Girl's Windows versions of 4.20 or 4.21, if you wish to install 4.20 or 4.21 for any platform, uncheck option to install 3rd party software which is set to install as default. Watch the installer options carefully! Which is the best version to use? Personally I found 4.20.9 connects in a flash, better than 4.21 but it's really up to what works best on your system. For anybody who is unaware, FrostWire version 5 or later does not connect to the Gnutella network. Thus we are unable to give support for a torrent only program. Simply ignore the FW program requests to update to version 5 or later. |
