Spyros is a great assister to others; your light through the dark tunnel
Question Picture Preview before download?

I could have sworn this was a FrostWire feature, but I just downloaded the new version, AND File_Girl's portable version, and neither of them have this picture preview box.

I used to be able to click on a picture or video file in the files list, and sometimes see a little preview of the image before deciding weather or not to download it. Can someone tell me what version or what file sharing platform this was?

Thanks in advance!!

Maybe someone else knows better, but I am not aware of any file-sharing program that gives you a preview of a file before you begin downloading the file.

Partially downloaded files, particularly video files will enable you a short excerpt of a % of what you have already downloaded if you choose to preview the file.

LimeWire 5 and LimeWire Pirate Edition have libraries for images that give you a Thumbnail preview of what the image looks like. But these are files that have already been downloaded or added to shares/library.

I previously used the earliest FrostWire versions, have tried Frostwire 4.18, 4.20 and 4.21 but do not recall seeing any preview option for image files that have not yet been downloaded. I've also tried several other gnutella programs which lack such an ability.

Confused

Thanks for the input. I know it sounds like a strange feature, but it was positively an image preview -before- downloading. I believe the person hosting the file needed to have the feature enabled, because 7/10 files didn't support the preview. But some would, it would say "loading" in red, and then show a tiny image.

Anybody else out there know what program this was? I'm surprised its not more popular, the program had a ton of cool features like this.

It also had features like a "host" column in the download details to the right of the file name before you download, where it would have a nickname for the person hosting the file and a number if it was popular, like "joe+27". And a "client" column showing the file sharing program that the host is using, like "LimeWire 4.1.8"

I found it!! It's Shareaza, AWESOME program! I'm so happy I found it again! Anyone interested, make sure you download the REAL Shareaza at Shareaza - Bringing P2P Together or download.com and avoid the fake Shareaza at shareaza.com
