Question

I don't believe there is a 0.7 version of Phex yet (?)
Therefore it is not mentioned in this forum.
I am hoever curious where you downloaded this 0.7 version.

Phex 0.6.4 is out, along with a beta 0.7 (with swarming). There's also a version for Java 1.4 only.

See http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/phex (the Files section).

Hi..

There are some bugs in the 0.7 we found shortly after the release. Thats why it was not public announced.
The official announcement will come soon in the next days.

If you like to try it anyway:
- Be aware you might loose your old download list!
- MultiSource download only works during the same Phex session. When restarting Phex the continued downloads might get corrupt.
- And some more known and unknown bugs exist.

If you like to try it anyway....
Please make a bakup copy of your download list first.

To activate find and change the line enable_0_7_Beta in your phex.cfg to
enable_0_7_Beta = true

Then do some testing and playing with it. I would be happy for any bug reports and user experiences. Please tell what you like and whats bad.

Gregor

uh, it would be very nice, if you could stay at java1.3 (or at least still support this one) because under OS/2 there sill only is 1.3 (more or less) available,a nd phex the only gnutella-client available and really running!

We will stick with Java 1.3 support for now. At least until there is Java 1.4 support for Mac and a little longer.
Do you know if there will ever be 1.4 support for OS/2

What's the probability for 'might'?

Swarming downloads need a way to manualy add and delete candidates. Important feature.

Besides that:

The chance is low during a Phex session.
There are bugs with resuming a download over two or more Phex sessions.
These bugs are fixed with the next release that will be available in a couple of days.

You will be able to manually add download candidates using the search and to remove candidates shortly before, soon after or in the final 0.7 release

It is supposed to be coming...
I think that it is going to be some sort of 1.3/1.4 hybrid.
