Does Furi Resume Partial Files despite shutdowns? Hello all? 2 Quick Questions: 1: does furi resume files even after you've shut it down and started it up again? I know its a beta and very buggy and slow at times, but when I've downloaded part of a file, and i shut furi down and start it backup, it seems to think that file is 0 bytes again, even though its not. Does it allow resumtion only during the same session? Is it not smart enough to read the file size of the files that are in its temp dir and resume from where they started? I'm curious and unsure.. 2: Does anyone know a way to edit the config or other files furi uses to set the wait time between file download retries a bit lower? It seems to sit forever before it re-requests a file from one of its canidates. There isn't an option in the GUI so I'm hoping there is one somewhere in the config. Let me know! Thanks guys! 1. It does resume file-downloads. It must be a bug in the GUI that shows "0 bytes" when you startup again. But as soon as the download continues you will see the full progress again. 2. Nope, there is no way to shorten the time between the attempts. |
rgr. Any other tips for performance? i'm also trying to find alternative networks, perhaps with people who are sharing movies more then mp3's. Thx for the info! - Hael |
Personally I wouldn´t try Gnutella with a connection slower than DSL or Cable. If you don´t get enough search results it helps to increase the number of connections in the "Network Setup" (but a fast connection is absolutely necessary to do this). Besides, there are plenty of movies on gnutella-network, just serach for "divx", "mpeg" or the title of the movie you want. |
Good advice! I thought the same thing about the hosts so I keep max 20 min 10. I'm on a SDSL line so bandwidth isn't usually a problem. - Hael |
Woah, this is quite a lot of hosts! I stick to min4 and max7 and this usually gets me 400 search results (my default) within seconds. More hosts are a waste of processing power and bandwith I think. Anything above 10 hosts really seems to much in my opinion. But, on the other hand it is quite a contribution to the gnutella net ;-) |
Call me generous =;- ) - Hael |
