I am a java newbie, but I was wondering if someone could point me to the class which accepts incoming keywords and sends them to the display. I would like to modify this to also send keywords to a text file. Any help?

I looked through the classes and found the Search.java .

This Class seems to handle the incoming search-queries and the String mQueryStr seems to be holding an actual query.

At a closer look the MsgManager.java Class is the one really handling the other host´s searches.

Hi, I was thinking about this just tonight: I inserted the following line into the handleQuery method of the ReadWorker class:

mManager.log (msg.getHeader ().getFromHost ().getHostAddr () + ": " + msg.getSearchString ());

This enters the IP address and search string of each search query into the log file.

Did you guys get the source? How do you look at the code? i'm a java newbie too but I'd love to poke around in furi and figure out stuff if I can. Give me some tips?!

I have this "Furi-Developers-Package" at hand.

But it is still necessary to have at least a "slight" insight into the process of java-programming. You should at least be aware of how a java-program is compiled and packed into an executable jar-file.

If you really want to get into java-coding I´d rather not start with the Furi-Source. Get through some tutorials first and get some programs running. When you know how the development process works Furi will be a very interesting source to look at.

Agreed. I got a link to source too and it is a bit hard to decipher. I'm into ASP and ColdFusion so Java looks a bit foriegn right now but I'm going to keep trying to learn in my spare time.

Would you mind sending me the source in a zip if its not too much trouble? Not sure how big it is but if you can (since you've already downloaded all the separate pieces) send it to hael@iname.com. If your not willing its no problem. I'll just go spend the time clicking =P
