Post my configurations for file sharing and downloads don't work in macphex

I am trying to configure Macphex for file sharing and downloads. I used English/Documents and English/Applications/Limewire/Shared in Furi but the Phex software has a java console say that these are not directories. I try to browse to set up the download folder and file sharing folder but that doesn't work either. I thought there might be a default setting so I tried to download and then look where the files are going to but a dialogue box says that the file for the download was not created. What do I do to configure the file sharing and downloads properly?

Why do you have to use MacPhex? The regular Phex works just fine under Mac OS X.

The Phex.jar file that was on the web site wouldn't load on my computer.

Actually, it would work if you had tried to load it correctly. You can make either it a double-clickable application (if you installed the Developer Tools) with the MRJ App builder or you can load it simply by opening the Terminal, navigating to the directory that phex.jar is in, and typing java -jar phex.jar

Well, that's what you could do if you were using Mac OS X, which you should be using, anyway. And even if you don't want to use OS X, why haven't you at least upgraded to OS 9.1?? It's a free upgrade, after all!

Thanks for all the help, but I really am new to most of this. Is the app builder part of MRJ SDK 2.2? What is the terminal and how do you open it? How do you navigate to where the phex jar is? I couldn't upgrade to 9.1 because I have the Japanese language kits installed, so I have to wait for the CD to get to me before I can upgrade.

This is for those who use Phex on the Mac. MacPhex is just Phex compiled to run on the Mac. No jBinary or MRJappbuilder required. Every time a new version of Phex comes out you could repeat the steps to making your app or just download MacPhex. It’s all there ready to go and has support to back it up. Plus konrad, the maker of Phex, suggests that you use MacPhex. Would it be different if it was just called Phex instead of MacPhex?
Scrod understand that not every one has installed the dev tools nor even want to. Try to give strait forward info, your just confusing an OS 9 user with a Terminal.
fuji10 download the newest version of <a href="http://macxster.n3.net">MacPhex</a> and were working on a how-to right know, any other questions send to macxster@mac.com.
