connection refused Been using Phex for about a year, like it a lot. Now, new computer, win ME, cable modem, Phex 0.7.3. Host catcher working, every host comes back "connection refused". Any ideas why? |
I am also getting this message. I am running Phex 0.7.3 under Linux with JRE 1.4. My hosts file is empty and every connection to a host list server results in "Error. Connection refused." I am behind a firewall, but this used to work just fine. Also, when in Windows I can use Gnucleus just fine and it connects to some of the same host list servers. My firewall log shows nothing, so it's not blocking the connections. |
Same here on Mac OS X. Phex worked great, had to switch to 56K modem during 3 months, came back to 10MBit connection, upgraded to Phex 0.7.3 and downloading has become totally impossible. I get lots of "connection refused" messages too; sometimes it connects, but after a few seconds the host disconnects. I tried changing the network settings but nothing helps. I have managed once to get 4 search results by searching for the word "something", maybe this was due to a bug in the bug which prevents getting a decent connection? Sigh, back to the disgusting LimeWire, at least it works. |
Same here! I'm having the same problem. I'm running on Linux with Blackdown JDK 1.3.1. I have over 90 autoconnect hosts configured and Phex can't connect to ANY of them?!?!? What is going on??? This looks big but we haven't heard anything from slashdot or gnutellanet news?!? |
