0.5.0 report

Hi Gregor

listening port 7421
behind firewall no
my host speed 30
my ttl 10
max ttl 10
min con. 4
max con. 5
max bandwith 30
con. timeout 30
ping freq 15
ping timeout 60
disconnect policy on, standard settings
ignored hosts no
invalid standard
filtered no
max download bandw. 15
max upload bandw. 10
allow browsing yes
filesharing enabled

my system;
P3 667 256Mb winME 256 k cable
zone alarm firewall set to medium security level

Phex 046 is running perfectly with these settings, give it a few minutes and it's settled in the network

Phex 050 has problems staying connected to other clients, I get constant ping timeouts or sent queue exceeds .
every time I have been using it, I am at the most 10 min !! connected to one client, the clients that I am connected to longer than 2 min usually get a send queue exceed.
It does'nt make any difference if disconnect policy is on or off.
Tried every setting related to firewall even firewall disabeled , it just does not make any difference.

hope this report helps, RaaF

Just wandering....

Am I the only one with 050 connection problems ?

RaaF June 16th, 2001 06:29 AM

Becouse the exceed number just adds up in 050 , I changed send queue exceed in disconnect policies to 1000 so I am a bit longer connected to a client, but when it exceeds the status reads; connected(deprecated, no broadcast forwarded).
You would expect phex, to clear this connection, and connect to a other client, but it does not.
I have to manually clear these depreciated connections.

btw always nice to get some feedback.....RaaF

connected(deprecated, no broadcast forwarded).

I get this behavior with hosts behind a firewall. It is not possible to send data to these hosts but You will still recieve data from them. Take Your time, these connections are removed after several minutes, or at least they should be removed.

Well sorry, but I give up on 050.
The problem is that it cannot keep it's connections up, hoever apart from this, the rest seems to be working well.
e.g. When i start up wait till I have a few stable connections, and do a searc, I do get good dl results.
But as the send queue builds up, I loose my connections, and so I am connected to an average of 2 clients ( a constant coming and going of clients) and yes phex does clear up the deprecated connections , when disconnect policies is on.

Phex 046 is a very good version and is still my favourite client, and I will continue to use it till something better comes along.

Greetings RaaF
