Unhappy Search Criteria

Can you tell me on what criteria Phex does a search (or is it Gnutella?).

Recently, I searched for anything by The Dubs (I like doo-wop) and got two correct searches. The other 287 had nothing to do with The Dubs, but had 'dub' somwhere in their titles or information or were "dubs".

How do I change the criteria so that I get only my search criteria and even case sensitive?

BTW, I am using 0.8beta, but I experienced this problem with 0.7 too

The problem is not on the side of Phex as the searching client but on the other replying Gnutella servents.
Usually servents should only return search results if all terms match but some bad behaving clients like Morpheus or different search algorithms are also returning on partial matches, 2/3 matches or 3/4 matches. Also words with less then 3 or 4 characters might be ignored by some clients.

You can refine your search results inside Phex using the filters. Define a filter with words that must be part of the search result and define a media type and maybe a min file size. This can help you to eliminate the noise in your search results.

"Also words with less then 3 or 4 characters might be ignored by some clients."

So that explains why The Dubs is treated as Dubs. Presumably surroundong the search criteria with quotes ("The Dubs") won't work either. I'll look into your suggestion about refining the filters, as this could be the answer.
