I have the same search bug I am running phex 5.1 on an amd 1ghz, 512 ram, windows me, and using java 1.3.1 . Phex crashes with every search. I have limited my searches to 50 and it still locks up. I am glad to see that you are aware of this bug and working on it. In the meantime is there a work-around, or a place to d/l a previous version without this bug? Also, is there any info that users with this bug could provide to help trace it? Btw, I downloaded phex 4.6.exe from gnuttella and found that it was infected with the w32.kris virus. Just thought that you might want to know. |

never dl an exe from gnutella The error seems to be connected to the result limit. Instead of setting a low result limit you should rather set it to an enormous number (like 8000) so it is never reached. I did this and the error didnīt occur ever since although i did a lot of popular searches. And to the virus topic. You should NEVER, EVER download an executable file from gnutella. There is no executable at all related to phex. Anything besides the zip and the java-files must be fake. But perhaps I have to repeat it again: NEVER DOWNLOAD any EXECUTABLE from gnutella. It will almost SURELY CONATAIN A VIRUS. |
