![]() heh No it is not ready, or even in the works really... How about it tho ? A client that would download from any client but would not show any files or allow uploads to Bearshare. Since it would have only a few users it could be updated VERY often to nullify any attempts that the Bearshare developer might make to defeat the Bearshare blocking feature. (did that make sense ? ) : ) Bearshare is a fine piece of work, but it is windoze only & is loaded with SpyWare ! ... yuck , Vinnie you are flat out tricking your userbase into using bearshare , if your average windoze user even knew what spyware was he/she would probably download LimeWire instead (same features, same price) One might assume that Bearshare users : A: dont know or care to know much about the program they're using ( if they did they wouldnt download a spyware filled program) B: are less likely to share lots of files or do stuff like leaving their high-bandwith computer on all night to feed the network which us open-source junkies will often do : ) C: they are less likely to care about the Gnutella community ... Hmmmm perhaps this is not a good idea after all... My Post is starting to sounds like a bunch of Elitist garbage... I retract everything i have said Peace, Love & Gnutella ! Something to keep in mind tho in case GreedBagMcBearShareDeveloper &GnutellaInventor decides to make bearshare proprietary or include adds or..... |

![]() Perhaps I have to state this clearly: This is not the Anti-Bearshare or Anti-Vinnie forum. Whatever you think of Bearshare you can post in the appropriate forums (Bearshare or General). This forums is about Phex and Phex surely is not against Bearshare. I wonīt fight any other gnutella program (as long as itīs not a leecher which Bearshare definitely isnīt). So keep you opinion where it belongs but not here. Bye, Konrad |

![]() Konrad started the Vinnie crap (and understandably so)... and only 2 other threads (including this one) were spawned off from that one, not much to get tired over. I will agree with you if this does continue, if another thread pops up about bearshare and Vinnie and/or Michael those napster rejects, but I dont think it will and I dont think its worth talking about much more then this last post. Plus it should be over now that Konrad is back (although I am not sure what that means anymore, just that its a good thing). ![]() Anway we should all be helping people with questions, like the Linux Newbie I was trying to help... |

![]() Well, technically you are right, what Konrad said was not "crap" because Vinnie was arrogant and I can understand why he wanted to leave because of it. I can also understand why some people would be ****ed off at Vinnie as well, while some of their claims outrageous, and I can see that Vinnie has a bad background (attitude problem as well, quite frankly I was not surprised when I heard why Konrad was quiting) and why some people chose to vent, it doesnt tire me any really, and I agree it doesnt really belong here much, but I have a higher tolerance then others. I'm not the unregistered that started these alternate threads, but I did talk in them (as I am now). I dont think the Spyware crap is a big deal now. Plus I am a transcient, going from website to website, and if I had to register to every website I visit, I would probably not have much time to post... as soon as things subside I probably wont come back here for a week, but because things are interesting now I'll stick around for a while, and I notice the Phex boards are not full of technical problems (that is either a good thing or a bad thing), so there is less reason for me to be a resident here... ![]() |
