Question Suse 9.2 / java / Phex problem ?

Hello,

As a fan of Phex i installed it on Suse 9.2. I encountered two problems. One of the problems was easily solved, Phex/java used a massive amount of CPU power, so the computer was more or less unusable, this was solved by downloading the Sun Java rte.

Now i've still got one problem, Phex or Java is eating file-handles. If i start a big download, it will stop after a few hours because java is out of file handles. This is probably a problem in either Suse9.2 linux or in the Java virtual machine, since on another computer runnen Suse8.2 with Sun java this problem does not occur.

Googling also points in the direction of a Suse/Java problem. A suggested solution is to increase the max amount of file handles, but this only delay's the problem. .

Has anyone else seen this problem, has any one solved it ?, is it Suse-specific ?

Any help appreciated !

Grtz Drz
