How to add shared files to library? I have just installed Phex. Proxy, firewall etc. everything works OK and I can connect/download except I do not understand how to add shared files to the library, "Add folder" and "Rescan" do not have any effect... Thanks P.S. Congratulations to the developers |
What OS are you using? |
sorry, Windows XP |
i use windows 2000 and same thing over here can't really do nothing to add a shared folder and i tried everything it could be for the following reason - i installed it under user rights (not administrators) please help i have the latest java and i ran it under the admin rights but didn't add the folder either - no reaction thank you |
Ok... please tell me how far do you get. 1) you select the Library tab 2) on the left pane you press 'Add folder' 3) a dialog 'Select directory to share' pops up 4) you browse through your hard drive and select a folder with not many files and no sub directories (for testing). 5) You press the 'Select' button of the pop-up dialog. 6) The dialog closes. 7) After waiting a couple of seconds, depends how large the folder is the folder appears on the left pane of the Library tab Also please check if you have a phex.error.log file in the 'phex' directory in your user home directory. no when you press "add folder" it doesn't do nothing just like a 'dummy' button - there has to be a problem with the pointer somewhere in the code i'm assuming - it seems as it's pointing to null |
Thanks for your help! Its fixed in the next release. You can expect it to be available soon. |
Same with me, when I press Add folder nothing at all happens. Thanks for the help, I am going to wait for the next release. |
The release with the fix is available from http://www.sf.net/projects/phex Or during the day tomorow from the Phex Homepage. |
