Having a problem with phex.

I just got it and I am getting errors,... can't save shared settings or something like that and can't create file. All my downloads go tothe incomplete folder even though phex said it was complete. I specified my own complete/ incomplete folders. Whats up?

tribaloverkill November 22nd, 2005 08:08 PM

Oh no,... they are two seperate folders. Theres phex/complete and phex/incomplete. I get these little error boxes in the bottom right of the screen that says cant save shared settings or something like that. When I go to download something I get cant create file. Everything I download goes intot he incomplete folder. I havent tried opening any of that stuff but I'm sure its going to give me some kind of corrupt error just as another user here has said happened to him.

Could it be that you have access right problems? Phex might not be able to write the files because of permission problems?

Ehh,... I dont know. permission problems,... how would I enable the OS so that a problem would need permission to create files? I didnt enable anything like that but I will look into it.

Which OS do you use? Windows? MacOSX? GNU/Linux?

I use XP with SP2.

Are you working with a restricted account? Or with a full access ( Administrator ) account?

tribaloverkill November 23rd, 2005 06:43 AM

It's my computer. full access. I have it running now. I have no problems connecting. I just checked my previous download and it seemed to work even though phex put it in the incomplete directory. well,... I just downloaded something and it worked fine. It put it in the complete folder. I guess it's ok now for whatever reason. If I have the problem again I will come back. Thanks guyz.

Downloading is a bit slow though,.... sny particular reason or just the servers I am downloading from?

arne_bab November 23rd, 2005 07:27 AM

Try some different files, but I asume it's the servers.
