Question Completed downloads still marked as INCOMPLETE

Hi
I like it so far but a big problem is some of the downloaded files are still marked as INCOMPLETE there appears to be no reason why as I have downloaded say 10 files 5 are okay and around 5 are still marked as incomplete.
Computer
compaq P4 win XP pro sp1
more detail
I use the same folder for comlplete and incomplete ( this I believe not a factor as some are okay )
Who I get the files from is I believe not a factor as some from the same user were okay some not.
The type I believe is not a factor as some PDF's are okay some not.
I downloaded a jpg pic I can see the thumbnaill of the image but cannot see it in my viewer Get " no preview available "
I can't delete the jpg as message " it is being used" If I really won't to I can delete it as I know enough about computers to get around this.
I downloaded an AVI file can't play real playr says it is being used by something else
The file sizes etc are okay acording to downloads screen and says 100% downloaded

I think I just solved the problem even though they are marked as incomplete in the shared folder and cannot be opened copy them to another folder I can view them So far PDF's and jpg's okay am downloading extra DIV X to play the AVI file some one may want to post this last bit as I am sure others will have same problem.
It seems funny that phex retains controllof some files ( word INCOMPLETE ) still on file but says it is 100% downloaded . Anyway just copy them to another directory
Thanks philip
will advise if still have probs.

I would suggest you create an incomplete Folder, right next to the complete folder, (and configure this into Phex properties). I think this should make things run better. The only thing is this might affect any incompletes you are currently trying to complete.

I have the same issue--files that appear to complete downloading remain in the temp directory. My temp directory is "right next" to the media one, but for some arbitrary reason, Phex fails to close the file and copy it over. I am assuming Phex has it open because it cannot be renamed or moved until Phex is shut down.

I also have the same issue. From what I can see the files are also missing a few bytes from being complete. Maybe these are the files that are marked corrupt by other clients? They often seem to be in perfect order though.

I've had this issue as well. I *think* i've found the problem.

It seems that the only downloads that get stuck are the ones that i'm monitoring on the downloads tab. Basically, if i'm clicked on the download when it finishes, it gets stuck in the "incomplete" directory. It doesn't matter if i'm in a different tab or not while i'm downloading. As a work around, I make sure i click on a different download (one that is gonna take a really long time) before I go to another tab. Since i've started this practice, the problem hasn't come back. (of course, it's only been a week.)

I think this issue came up from the implementation of the monitoring feature that lets you monitor the progress of the file in its pieces. Since the action of your clicking on the file in the downloads causes the program to actively scan the file in question, it prevents Phex from being able to move the file to it's new directory. As a side affect, the program locks the file permanently and doesn not allow you to modify or move the file yourself. At least, this is what's happened to me. The file remains locked until you shutdown Phex.

Specs for the development team:

O/S - XP pro SP2
PC - AMDxp 2000+, 1gbRAM
Phex Version 2.8.2.92
Java v1.5.0_04-b05

Just wanted to post a follow-up on this. After several more downloads, i'm certain that this work around works! I haven't had an Incomplete get stuck since I've been watching what I do.

Has anyone from the developtment team taken a look at this, yet?
