Default Multi-Host simultaneous download

That's a feature I would like to see appear in Phex.

I did try it with the XoloX software (defunct), it was pretty effiencent to download videos (like the Enterprise TV series...) in 450MB in relative short time.

Another feature to help share file was that it was permitting to upload file as they were downloaded, this was a nice approach to the "sharing" that p2p is permitting.

Happy Sharing Indy

Thumbs up

i wonder why nobody has replied to this message until now. I also would like to see this feature, because that fasten up larger downloads in a great way!

If it the gui would only be a bit faster...

I agree, that it would be a great feature. In fact I truely believe that this was "THE" feature that made Xolox so popular. I heard WinMX was going to introduce it in version 3, but they,ve been quiet for an awfully long time now. Is this something that is that hard to program? Gregory, if you read this could you let us know if that is the reason? I know there are many people waiting to jump on the next GOOD prog that has this feature and to me this the only reason I now rate Phex as my second favorite prog.

We are implementing a feature like this currently. I takes some time since it's not very easy to handle all the different file pieces efficiently for large files. We also have to adjust some of the very old and terrible Phex/Furi code to integrate it well.
Currently we are only two developers. This makes it difficult to bring new features, cleanup code, and fix bugs in short time. So anybody who likes to help improving things here or there is welcome.

The next major release v0.7 might contain this swarming download ability. But don't ask me how long it takes until it's ready ;-)
