Interested in developing a c++ linux/windows client?

Hello,
i plan to code a closed-source gnutella client for linux and windows using the ptypes library (http://ptypes.sf.net).
However it's easier and more fun to do it in a team so i look for help in here :)
I plan to do the client as a leaf-node only client with the main design goal on simplicity for the user ...
If you want to join me send me a private message in here or write a email to (the username of me in here) @ guruz.de ..

bye

No offense, but why dont you join an existing project?
That's better to start from the scratch....
Or do you want fame? :)

Huh, hmmm, then tell me a project that is closed source and lets me join and isn't so advanced that i have no chance to understand it.. and well yes, it also should fit into the vision i have of a gnutella client. Then i would join something else instead of doing my own thing :)

Why it has to be closed source?
Well you could join Gnucleus, just download the code, make some improvements and send it to John Marshall.

I like OpenSource, but i don't think making my client open source helps anyone, the gnutella specs are open anyway so everyone can code what he wants to.
And i don't like using the gnucleus COM object, i want to do my own, non-bloated thing :)

thanks kathw :)

by the way, i have changed my mind, it will be open source, so if anyone wants to help contact me

We have started a project to make a Gnutella client/library portable in C++ (based on gnucleus, but without the COM).

You are welcome to contribute, http://gnucula.sourceforge.net

It's up to you to keep the Gnutella client source closed. The project is primarily focus on Gnutella library though.
