What is a Gnutella client?

Im not to sure what a Gnutella client is,

Can some one tell me?? Is Limewire a Gnutella client?

And how would i go about building one??

Ive Programed in Basic/Liberty Basic/HTML

gnutella is a protocol; a way computers can communicate to form a p2p network.
