Service Discovery using Gnutella Hello, I am trying to build a service discovery architecture that is based on Gnutella. Basically, each peer possess a set of services, which could be discovered and used by other peers in the network. I thought of: 1) using GnucDNA as the underlying P2P framework 2) forming a private P2P network using GnucDNA 3) using custom meta-data/XML-Schemas to describe the services. 4) searching for services (similar to searching for files) by using those custom meta-data in the private P2P network. I would really appreciate it if anyone could suggest or comment on the feasibility of this approach. Thanks - Salem Mark |

For me, it think it great to create a service directory My Concerns is:
BUt great advangde on this directory is that any p2p can use it and will turn up a faster result |

You're probably better off with the "P2P-Hackers" mailing list. Look at archive, it contains interesting and very technical discussions: http://zgp.org/mailman/listinfo/p2p-hackers You could also ask for pointers over at the GDF: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the_gdf/messages |
