![]() Will gnutella clients respond to queries that dont come from ultrapeers? Here is the theoretical situation; I have a gnutella client A running a prototype gnutella client, and another remote gnutella client B, running something like limewire, etc. B is connected to the gnutella network. A is not connected to the gnutella network. If i know the IP of B, I can send a query to B from A, but will B accept the query, and will B respond directly to A, or will it attempt to respond via the gnutella network? Im asking this for security purposes, and because i think it might be a hnady tool |

![]() so, the querying client wouldnt have to handshake with the other client? And there would be no ping/pong messaging between them? you could send the query, and the client would reply directly to you, rather then trying to reply to you through the gnutella network? |
