Gnutella in LAN Hi I want to make a Gnutella client which will work in Local Area Network . First of all i want to know how different computers on the network will get connected and act as both client and server . I looked at JTella but it was not much helpful . Can you give me some basic guidelines on how to proceed . Regards Madhur |
Phex might be the easiest choice for you here, since it implements the current Gnutella Standard (0.6) already supports private networks. - Phex Private Networks: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/adapti...vate-networks/ Also you migth be interested in the developer section of our wiki: - Developers Wanted - PhexWiki - How to get the code: Subversion - PhexWiki Phex Developers Toolkit: - http://www.gnutellaforums.com/adapti...s-toolkit.html |
I added my friends on Local Area network . The "Allow to be an UP " and "Force to be an UP" was checked in all . But when anyone tries to copy a file we get a waiting status with the response in Download Candidates showing as " Ignored candidate (Push Route Failed) " . what do i have to do to correct this . One more thing . Suppose a user A connects to user B and User B connects to User C , so can we do something through which A can discover C through B . Regards |
I assume that your Phex thinks that it is firewalled. (do you see the little brick wall at the lower left corner of the Phex window?) If that's the case, you'll have to disable the firewall checking code: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...tml#post250408 |
