Red face Mandragore Virus / GNET - LockBox

Hi,

Here are the problems that I have at present:

1. I have the mandragore virus on a machine.

And 2. The GNET - LockBox software will not run properly. I can start the program, but when I click the detect button I recieve an error message, with the end result of to shutting down LockBox.

Here is what the error message reads:
Title of error message: GNET LockBox: lockbox.exe - Application Error
Body of error message:
"The exception Privileged instruction.
(0xc0000096) occurred in the application at location 0x0043b498."
The button choices are the standard OK to terminate the application and CANCEL to debug.

After hitting the OK button to terminate the application, it pops up another error message:

Title of error message: lockbox.exe - Application Error

Body of message: The instruction at "0x77f6750b" referenced memory at "0x00000027". The memory could not be "read".

The button choices are also the standard OK to terminate, and CANCEL to debug.

I have tried configuring the program differently, but to no avail.

Fred

1. Go to mandrake.com download Linux for free
2. install it, very easy.
3. It runs KDE, it's windows OK?
4. Get more informed and trash windows, it sucks.
5. Viruses go away, you don't need a firewall because it is a firewall. No more blue screens.
6. Why make your life difficult?
7. Don't ask "does it do this, does it do that" because I could ask "does windows run longer than 1 hour without crashing?"

That is such a dumb answer. What everyone who preaches linux like a mad man ignores to their conveniance, is, if linux is so great, how come its not nearly 90 percent of the market?

First off Linux is far more convenient. Programs that cost hundreds of dollars on Windows (Photoshop, 3d Studio Max, et al.) have free clones available for Linux (GIMP, Blender, etc), not to mention the fact the the OS costs $0, never ever crashes, and never needs the software that windows needs just to refrain from loosing data (Scandisk, regclean, scanreg, norton utilities, Data recovery, virus scanners, etc).

But since I doubt most people have the skills to configure Linux, I don't preach about it either... Unless provoked.

To remove a virus, go to http://antivirus.cai.com/ and download their free virus scanner, and free updates every 2 weeks, free for personal use.

To get gnutella working, try uninstalling and reinstalling the client, otherwise, try a different client, preferably FURI.
