hello there, i just found out about gnutella and would like to know what the general concensus is on which client is best for my situation.
i am fairly computer savvy, but my wife is not. i will be using gnutella to share files with my coworkers, my wife wants napster.
any input would be greatly appreciated,

There is no concensus, everyone just posts the propaganda for his favourite client. But as far as i know most users prefere either BearShare (Windows only) or LimeWire (Cross Platform). Another famous one is ToadNode, but i never got it to run without crashing my system. BearShare will install SpyWare on your system without explicitely telling you about it, and LimeWire, written in Java, needs a lot of system resources. I would recommend LimeWire anyway, because it should run without any bigger problems on every modern system and - warning, personal opinion - returns the most search results and is faster than any other client.

Just a note: there is no spyware in BearShare only adware and now BearShare "explicitely" tells you about it and gives you option not to install it. After all adware pays for FREE software, what did you think made it free to download? Limewire also has some problems with resuming files. Also the only way to stop a search in Limewire is to clear the search, so people end up with a lot of searches running in the background they just really slow everything down.
