Unhappy Firewall and getting disconnectd

Hi,
I am connected to the internet via Lynksys wireless access. I can use limewire, but after awhile it times out and I have to run downstairs and push the reset button on the wireless box. I have called both my ISP, zoomtown, and the Linksys support line. It was determined that I am behind a firewall. I was told that I need to know what ports do I have to enable or open for your software so that this doesn't happen? I've already browsed through the firewall issues FAQ's and I can't seem to find the answer that I'm looking for.

Thanks,
foxyladi

Isn't this a wireless sync issue and not a gnutella one?
Does it reset when you are doing anything else?

Default Hi

Thanks for responding. It does this when I use limewire and also when I use real player. I was told by linksys that the particular ports that keep open my internet connection are set up so that I should never time out (I use a DSL connection). But they seem to think that the ports that keep open realplayer and limewire are not opened up by my ISP and therefore I time out. I've tried keeping a window open and occasionally hitting refresh while using these applications, but it times out anyway. I'm trying my best to explain this in laymans terms. I was told that I need to obtain a range of port numbers (i.e. ports 180-190) that need to be opened so that the time out will not happen. Once I get those port numbers, I was told to call my ISP back and that they would open them up for me. I'm sorry if this is a bit confusing and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Default Default Gnutella port

Usually Gnutella clients use port 6346 as their default listening port.
