There are some viruses that do this... they clone a legitimate file and change it into a malicious Visual Basic Script (VBS)... I strongly suggest you obtain a virus scanning program and/or be sure yours is up to date and scan your entire computer. As I recall this particular virus cannot usually be 'cleaned' and the file must be deleted! Please do not place any of these files in your shared directory until you are certain they are clean. Here is one I found on the Norton Anti-Virus site - W32.HLLO.Rozak is a virus that overwrites .exe, .mpg, .mpg4, .zip, .doc, .rar, .avi, and .mp3 files on drives C, D, E, and F.

Here are two of the more common products - they both used to offer free 30 day trials but I did not find a free eval on Mcafee ...
Mcafee.com - Virus Scan - Norton.com - Anti-VirusTrialware

Go to Symantec's site, and make this search: "mp3 +extension". You will get some results of virii, and if you are lucky you will find a removal tool for that virus (that usually is no bigger than 500k) with no need to download the full anti virus.
