Hi,
I'm making a program to download files from Gnutella with the Winsock control in VB. It works fine, except that there are often blips in the songs. Does anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it?
I think that its probably extra information that is being sent along with the data that needs to be removed, but I don't know what the extra data is.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am no expert but may be able to offer assistance.

Firstly the questions: Does it happen to all the songs? Have you tried it with other files that extra data would be more evident?

Now my thesis: If it doesn't happen to all the songs then it is probably just something that sometime happens during the recording/encoding process. I run into that a lot. You should try testing it with another kind of file to be absolutely sure.

If it does happen every time, you are probably correct and I have no idea of what the solution would be.

The pops and squeaks are errors in the recording process (Specifically CDA to MP3). I just live with mine. I know there are some programs out there that remove them, I don't remember their names. Search for them, you might find something.
