Talking How to set up Gnutella - for first time users!

Yes I had a lot of trouble figureing it out... I tryed to connect to the servers listed in Gnutella and got dropped 2-3 secs later. I will now explain how I set up gnutella...

1. Are you behind a firewall or is your ISP blocking you? Well, just open the Configuration dialog, click Your Connection and check Firewalled. Also change the port number there, it can sometimes help (dont forget to click Update)

2. Go to the Host screen. Put gnutella.hostscache.com into the space nextto Add, check the Keep up .. Hosts checkbox, and fornow add 30 in the Keep up box (you may decrese that later to about 5-10, once you verify that every things working again). Check Allow Incoming connections(if it doent work with this, repeat all the steps, by UNCHECK the Allow Incoming box).

3. Click in the box you entered gnutella.hostscache.com and hit the Enter key. Wait about 1 minute. You should notice a large list of host fill the box in the middle. Once a great deal of these start saying "Outgoing" in the status, it means that you should be connected right. Also in the bottom right status bar, there should be a far few host availble (mine currently says about 1600)

4. Now click search, enter a file name/something to search for, choose the file type (say mp3 for mp3s) and hit search. It usually takes about 1 minute or more before your search returns anything, so just wait.

Ok, so there you go. Enjoy.
