vanished hard drive space Has anyone else had an experience like this andor knows how to fix it. 800 Megs of free spce has vanished from my hard drive. Win98se says the drive is full, yet the total of the folders summed individually is 800 megs less. The college LAN wouldn't let me log on a few days ago, which is their standard response to excessive downloading the day before. Gnucleus also hung up the system on the day concerned. I had to shut down with the Power off button. I conclude that someone has downloaded a vast amount of whatever to my hard drive, and these folders do not show on the system, like certain folders in Internet Explorer. If anyone knows how to make such files show themselves, I'd really appreciate the info. |

Run a Scandisk on your hard drive. The OS function that calculates the amount of free space may be damaged. Ivan "In the dark we make a brighter light"
