![]() Would some kind soul explain to me why I keep getting probed on the Gnutella port? I've never run any client and this has been going on for days! How long does it take for your crappy 'network' to realise that there is nothing running on my machine? Replies to s_gepp@hotmail.com please. |

![]() You're on a dynamic IP, right? Yea, would be a nice feature if we were able to log out, telling the net that the IP isn't valid any more, before we disconnect. Thus we could not only avoid to annoy the guy who gets the IP afterwards, but do also waste less bandwidth. Also the possibility of using hostnames instead of IPs would help. Then we could use a DynDNS service. As it is actually, forgetting to update the forwarded IP results in reporting the wrong IP all over the gnutella net. Resulting in flooding that IP accidentally ( Yes, I know, LimeWire is accepting a hostname, but it doesn't automatically update the reported IP, so you still have to update manually). |
