Problems downloading audio from radio shows

When i download clips from radio shows(Howard Stern, Imus, Opie and Anthony, etc.) I am unable to hear the audio most of the time. The voices are really slow and drawn out like playing a record on the wrong speed. Any suggestions on how i am able to hear these radio clips better?
