Sharing files, Very Important Question

Im sharing about 50 files(all full games). And i was just wondering if i get hits, does this mean that the person is downloading already, or they have to hit and upload to start their downloading?

I wanted to know, cause i dont mind sharing files and i wanted to make sure everything was Ok. Most of the time i only see hits, and no uploads, so get back to me asap.
