Security risks- do you know about them?

If my information is correct, most/all servents for Gnutella have the same security loopholes... I dunno if anyone really knows this or not. Malicious users can intercept communications and decieve you into thinking you are just getting what you want. When actually you are actually downloading it along with a virus or something of the sort.

This is disturbing, yet easily avoidable if you use common sense.

One thing you need to know is what types of files can carry malicious content. If you simply don't try to get these files you can dodge the problem completely. So for a lot of you, who are just in it for the videos and mp3's, don't really have to worry much. I've included a link to a site with a much more detailed explanation of the problem.
