Default Adult Content Filter Patch Please?

I am pretty much programming illiterate so I have no clue about how to change the source code. It's wonderful that we can filter out most adult content with the filter option, however, my six year old can easily go into the options and change it. Does anyone out there have a patch that I can install to keep the adult filter content always on all the time forever and ever with the only option of turning it off by changing the source code?

If anyone has such a patch or know where to find a file or has any other suggestions or information that can remotely lead me to find a way to lock out either adult filters or just plain videos and pictures in general, please please help! I am using Lime wire for Mac OS X - not a PC!

"In desperate need of help."

thanks

Question Ports for videos and pictures?

Is there a certain port that Gnutella uses for either video or pictures that I can used in conjunction with some kind of a fire wall to block the children in my house from using Lime Wire for pictures or videos?

any info would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Being mac osx you can set up a user account just for yourself with login password & programs & files only accessible to yourself. Else make permissions for LW only accessible to yourself. Go to Finder & Applications, locate LW program & either Control click program - Get Info OR select it & Apple key & i key or select LW go to File>Get info. Now, scroll down to Ownership & Permissions & Change to Read only. This is purely an example as image shows & can be done how it best suits you.

Also being a mac user you should filter out some words you don't need using the Keyword filter. For example, add .exe, .wmv & I also add .jpg The Adult Filter works but is not 100% efficient apparently.

Here's the path to your LW filters.

Thanks for the info Lord of the rings, I'll play around with that, but is there anyway to password protect the programs adult content. I can see ways of getting around the different user thing, like me leaving my comp on and some one changing the applications permissions.

I'm gonna try the other user thing for now.

Not that I'm aware of. Are you sure they'd know how to change permissions. Perhaps like I suggested earlier, you have the admin rights to using LW but your children can only log in under a different user name without the permissions (& thus password) to make any changes to LW's prefs. Only the administrator (yourself) could change LW's preferences. I think this would work. Stief would be the best one to ask about this.

Default Limewire Audlt Filter Always On (LimewireFAO)

OK - I have completed a version of limewire that should be safe for all of those out there who don't want any adult content to come through their limewire program. It runs through terminal. I can't figure out how to convert it into a macintosh .app file. If there is anyone out there who can change this file into a .app file, please email and let me know. Also, if there is anyone out there who would like a copy of my adult fiter always on limewire program, please email me at: limewirefao@suscom.net
