Stop bugging me! I run a NetGear firewall on our cable modem, and ever since I received our latest IP address, I've been logging thousands of connection attempts per day, all on gnutella's port 6346. I have never run gnutella, so I can only assume that whoever had this address before me did (and would appear to have been a popular boy!) I assumed that the frequency of attempts would drop off over time, as it became obvious that there's no longer anything to be had at this address, but they continue unabated. This is not good netizenship. What, if anything, can be done to stop this flood? |
