I just heard about this band from a friend of mine and had to find out more about this industrial meets electronic group (imagine throwing Nine Inch Nails, Lisa Gerrard, and Massive Attack into a musical blender). Industrial Monk is actually a duo that have incorporated the best of the old world with the technology of the new. One of the best things is the use of chanting chamber singers over the ambient electronic beats. My favorite tracks are “Vide Domine” and “Ave Maria” off of PROPHECIES and “Requiem” and the title track from MAGNIFICAT.
