wi***b Hi all! I would like 2 know if it is posible 2 use this hard disk (40 Gb, 8,9 ms, 7200 RPM, 2 Mb cache, Ultra ATA-100 BARRACUDA IV - ST340016A ), along whit my old operating system (wi***b)? Regards and ty 4 your answers! |

If you have an old system, your bios might not want to see the whole HD. E.G. I Once put a 30 GB hard drive in an old P 133 system, and the bios would only see 16 GB Anyways, it still was a great improvement, becouse the old HD was only 4 GB |

Well, I tried all possibilities, But when asked in the shop where I bought the HD, they sugested A bios flash would be a good solution, becouse the version that was on wasn't capable of seeing more than 16 GB they thought. But I never flashed the old thing, It wasn't my own computer you see and flashing a bios CAN be dangerous. |
