That'sa dumb

I find alot of 128k files dont' cut it quality wise. I try to use 160, anything more and the file size is too big.

Exclamation I want to stay Gnuttella

I've actually tried gnucleus and I dont like the fact it dont auto resume downloads or selected files I'm getting ready to try a few others like kazza lite and edonkey I'm using bs on gnuttella now it seems pretty good I'll soon try l/w but i feel that I am screwing open source p2p. ive been using gnutella for about two years I've got 200gbs to share all gotten off gnuttella. I feel sad that I might have to leave gnuttella if only gnucleus was more like gnotella or peeranha.
I hope godxblue opensources it he had a great start of a client. I guess I should be more clear as to what im looking for is a client like gnottella.
1.is upto date
2.auto resumes broken links failed downloads(so i can run it 24-7 check on it once a day )
3.remembers all of my settings if it dies (i.e. windows)
4.good search engine (im into videos and sometimes a mp3)
5. i love the new multiple download sources
I guess I'm just complaining that gnucleus isnt upto gnotella yet and I'm impatient is there any knock off gnucleus that might be close to what im looking for?

I've tried gnuecleus as well and don't like how the system keeps pinging my server until it allows it to download. The fact that I see all of these requests, makes me want to limit the number of files I share as well as selecting those IP address on ingnore. I tried Kazza lite, and the selection on there is decent, however the application is slow when switching screens or selecting other items (Java issues?) I also don't like the fact that you can't see what types of MP3 encoding speeds the song's are. The good thing is that it does have auto resume, switchable to other servers of like files if the server you are on suddenly disconnects or fails downloading. Most of the songs on the Kazza lite finds are MP3's at 128K Encoding or less, which I don't find appealing. What I need is a new version of Gnotella or better yet... get rid of all of the gneucleus.
Oh one more feature I did like about Bearshare, gnotella and Kazza lite is the ability to browse the connected server for other files. (I find that really nice to be able to get suggestions from other people's file collections). Kazza has a nice feature built in on that. Gnotella and bearshare go to a web interface.
Bad thing about Kazza is that you don't have multiple searches like gnotella. You could save your last 3 searches with Gnotella. If you search on something different with Kazza lite you lose the information on the previous search.
Does anyone know if Kazza lite is on the Gnutella network, I heard it is on the Limewire, Fastrack network.
Well, I'll still use Gnotella for the time being.

I would like to knwo why in the HELL all clients don't have this feature, without that the client is pretty much atomatically worthless, if you psend a whole bunch of time searching for files, decide which ones you want but you need to reboot or your computer crashes before they finish you are screwed!

The Browse function in BearShare, and LimeWire if I have this correct, is about to go bye bye.
I am sure that someone will come in here and correct this comment if I am wrong, but there are certain definite indications that BearShare will be omitting the 'feature'.
btw, this 'feature' consumes large amounts of bandwidth and it is not advisable to have it 'ON' unless you really do have the bandwidth allocated to support it. It is for sure a no-no for dial-up modem users.

Kazaa thinks the neutered version is the real thing so it runs happy. If you delete the neutered Cydoor, then it WILL INSTALL the real Cydoor the next time you run it!

The browse function, as we know it, is going bye bye. This is because Limewire is going to incorporate a new way to browse user's files, and Bearshare is going to follow suit. When this will happen, though, I have no idea, so we'll probably be without it for a while.

We probably won't be putting it back either, since there is a new GDF proposal from LimeWire for browsing the files belonging to a host (one that integrates itself into the search results rather than using Internet Explorer).

The LimeWire technique also works with firewalled hosts (where our web server feature doesn't).

We will still leave the web server feature in there in case anyone wants to serve HTML.
