inside-server-outside ??? i life in a studenthouse with a internal network and a shared connection to the internet with a linux-pc as gateway/firewall. because of a *small* bandwidth-problem we need to limit p2p. i thought of a server installed on that linux-box as the only way out. everyone inside just connects to that server and can share files with everybody inside AND outside the fierwall. does anyone have some more info on this? links? thanks a lot :)) |
There was a project called "Reflector" released by Clip2. But I think they never had it right. I was thinking about introducing "proxy-mode" to Mutella, but I am affraid, I dont have time for that. Some lients like Limewire and Bearshare support so-called "superpeer" mode, but I dobt if it is possible to "force" this mode and set preffered subnet... --Max |
A FULL transparent gnutella proxy is unfortunately not available, AFAIK. |
