![]() This should take off, because there are SO MANY gnutella users, and the gnutella network has the limited horizon, which means even if I am on the 'real' gnutella network, I can actually only search a small subset of all users. So to get comparable performance on this network (ignoring performance hitches caused by anticompetitive commercial clients!) we only need to <I>convert</I> a small subset of the 'real' gnutella users to opensource p2p. It looks like the changes should be real easy to implement - I'm not a C programmer, but I think I can hack gtk-gnutella tonight when I get home! If I succeed, I'll post some source somewhere. |
