![]() I know this has nothing to do with limewire but all you guys seem pretty smart so i'll give it a try. When i try to compile any program i download i get this: checking for working aclocal... missing checking for working autoconf...missing checking for working automake... missing checking for working autoheader...missing checking for working makeinfo... missing checking wether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking fo ranlib....: checking for gcc.... no checking for cc... no configure: error: no acceptable cc found in $PATH please help! |

![]() Did you not select the recommended software development packages when you installed your distro? I don't think I'd try to go back and install gcc, automake, etc. even from RPMs or debs after installing an OS. I know Red Hat and Mandrake and maybe Debian will install a pretty complete set of dev tools if you mark the software development category at install time. |
