Boy, that's daunting isn't it. So many commands :( |
LoL That is why I was going to make an installer for tying limewire together with java. That way it should work for everyone. If the one I am about to post is reliable enough, maybe it would be incorporated with the LimeWire installer all-in-one. altoie |
well I had exactly the same problem, try this export PATH="/usr/java/jre/bin":$PATH now that path may not necessarily be the path to where you installed java to, I think default path on install is /usr/share. The VM file the LimeWire is looking for is in the bin folder. |
I'm still having the exact same problem. My java runtime is installed to /usr/java/jre1.3.1_04. I typed the command: sh LimeWireLinux.bin -PATH="/usr/java/jre/bin":$PATH I'm getting the message: No java V.M could be found from your path environment variable you must install....blah blah blah I'm new to Linux.... what am i doing Wrong? |
Success Nevermind the last question: i found the answer here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=11915 all i did was 1. I actually uninstalled my old runtime for a newer version (this wasn't necessary, i just wanted the most recent version) 2. i typed the commands export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/j2re1.4.1, export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/j2re1.4.1/bin sh LimeWireLinux.bin I have no idea what that did, but it worked Thanks anyway |
ahhh wow. I have no idea what that did either, but it fixed mine too, and I was having the exact same problem. I'm also pretty new.. would anybody mind explaining what that just did? :) -Mike |
U ROCK. I had the same version, and it worked fine :). 1.4.1. Thanks :) |
i was thinking i might have had a similar prob as you all so i tried the same thing but no dice. im getting this: Preparing to install... Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive... Configuring the installer for this system's environment... Launching installer...
